Three Ways To Attract Bad Credit And 3 Ways To Get Out Of It

More often than not, the most well meaning people seem to develop bad credit at some stage in their lives. It does not seem to matter whether you have had perfect credit in the past, we seem to go through periods of time where debt takes on a life of its own and grows uncontrollably, like a newborn puppy. Going along hand in hand with this, paying bills on time becomes more and more difficult.

So, why does bad credit have a habit of creeping up on good people with the best of intentions? There are many reasons, but here are three circumstances under which good financial situations turn rapidly into into bad ones:

1. Many people never seem to learn how to manage their money, manage their debts and build good credit. It may be a situation that has been brought about through parents who did not know enough about finances to teach their children, or that the children themselves never had enough interest in the subject to pay attention and learn how money worked.

2. When people start to make decent money for the first time in their lives, for example, when they secure their first job, they start to become confident in their independence. They have the idea that this ability to make money will always be with them. They start to feel like they can treat themselves to more and more of the finer things in life. To them, the money will continue to come in forever. They start to spend more and, inevitably, accumulate greater debt.

3. It is a fact that bad things happen regularly in life, through no action or fault of the person concerned. Whether a job layoff, serious illness in the family, divorce, or any number of unfortunate occurrences, these setbacks do occur, rendering the recipient powerless. When they do occur, either money stops coming in, or more money has to go out.

Since spending habits and lifestyles have already been established, it is very difficult to overcome these financial challenges. The inability to pay off debt leads to bad credit. Credit scores start to drop like a ton of bricks, and lifestyles are dramatically changed.

Fortunately, there are a few ways to improve credit scores and get back on your feet financially. Here is a three-step process that can quickly help you to get back good credit ratings and allow you to start enjoying a comfortable, secure lifestyle again:

1. Get $500 from somewhere. Sell something or earn it somehow. Go to your bank and buy a $500 certificate of deposit with that money. A few days later, go back to the bank and ask for a $500 loan, using the certificate of deposit as collateral. Under most circumstances, this loan will be granted as it is considered a secured loan, because the bank knows it will get its money back from you. Your certificate of deposit guarantees that.

Pay off the loan, making regular payments on time. Use the money from the loan to make the payments. Whilst it will cost you a small amount of interest, it will be well worth the expense for the improvement that will occur to your credit record.

2. Once that loan is paid off, go back to the same bank and now ask for a $500 "unsecured" loan. With this loan, you do not need to offer any collateral. You now have good standing with the bank because of the previous loan, so this loan should also be approved. If not, go through the process of the secured loan again. If the unsecured loan is granted, pay off the loan on time using the loan money as before.

3. Once the unsecured loan is paid off, you can now apply for an unsecured credit card, either through your own bank or through another company. The terms of the credit card should be quite favorable, and it should have a fairly high limit attached to it. The main thing is to keep this credit card paid off each month and operating cleanly. From there, your credit score will show a vast improvement within just a few months.

There are many ways to get into debt and develop bad credit. Unplanned financial challenges and unfortunate occurrences can happen to anyone.

Fortunately, there are ways out of the maze where you are able to take the lead on your own credit repair and debt relief. As an added bonus, it sure helps you to sleep at night when you can finally say you are on top of your credit and debt challenges too.
