Ethanol – A Looming Environmental Catastrophe

By: GARKO

Whether or not you believe in global warming everyone agrees that the environment should be protected. And this article tells you where the solutions are… and aren’t! . Biofuel, as you probably know or can guess from the name, is any energy source derived from living organisms of any kind. The most common biofuel is a blend of gasoline called E85, and this is a mixture in a ratio of 15:85 gasoline:ethanol. However, the gasoline and ethanol content changes depending on the season. During the Winter months you need more gasoline in the mixture to ensure the fuel works properly, so E85 is at least 70% ethanol.
The fact that E85 needs 15-30% gasoline in the mixture is not the major problem, that factor is really not such a big deal. If everyone was using E85 and the use of gasoline got cut by 70% that would be a tremendous advantage. .
The real problems with Ethanol follow… Biofuels such as E85 are causing food shortages globally. The problems are rather fascinating Corn is the primary food base from which ethanol is derived. Since corn is grown and harvested by farmers, there is a finite amount of land that can be used to produce corn. The demand for the corn crop has grown substantially due to the push for biofuels while the supply has struggled to keep up. Corn is more profitable to grow now due to the increased demand, so those in agriculture are growing more corn at the sacrifice of wheat and soy. Instead of a shortage in one staple crop, corn, there is now a shortage in two additional food staples: wheat and soy. This brings on problems of great magnitude in the lack of land on which to grow corn and other staples, soaring food prices and, yes, potential starvation of the poor.
So the question becomes where to get the land from so as to grow the corn for both food and fuel? This is where it gets really bad for environmentalists. Back in the 80s, environmentalists told us that if we would only plant more trees we would save the world, remember? As if every day was Arbor Day, the environmentalists pushed their tree-hugging agenda on anyone that would listen. Trees were the cornerstone of the green movement and suddenly every major corporation prominently displayed the recycled content on their containers, proud to be a part of saving the world. But the only way to make more land from which to grow corn is… deforestation! Millions of carbon dioxide-breathing trees may meet their end as the demand for biofuels increases over the coming years and decades. And a recent study found that converting land to use for biofuel crops worsens global warming. Buy a gallon, kill a tree. Critics have been angered by the rapid destruction of tropical rainforests, which have been cleared to allow farms to grow biofuel crops.
Deforestation has been found to account for roughly 18% of Earth's greenhouse gas emissions and many experts view the idea of eliminating forest land for the purposes of growing crops for biofuel to be simply crazy.
So let’s forget about a future economy based on Ethanol from corn. If it were to happen it would be an ecological disaster!
So here is the real solution!
WATER4GAS is sharing information for a nominal fee which people can use in their garage or wherever to build a small gizmo which infuses hydrogen into the gas/air mixture that their vehicle runs on.
The process makes smaller particles out of the ones that the engine burns as fuel. Therefore it gets to use a lot more of the gasoline.
By doing this you can reasonably expect to increase your MPG by thirty to fifty percent or significantly more. Those molecules must have been pretty "blankin'" big in some engines before. But with WATER4GAS they are made usable so you can increase your MPG.
It also helps reduce emissions significantly.
