Bed & Breakfasts Versus Hotels

By: Patti Rob

There are definitely more hotels out there than bed & breakfast locations, so securing a reservation on one can be difficult if you don't plan ahead. It seems like more people are passing over hotels to get a more personal environment at a bed & breakfast. Some of them have several rooms while others only feature two or three of them.

Hotels are often crowded in the lobby and you don't get personal attention. You basically check into your room and you are left to fend for yourself. A bed & breakfast can offer you a great view as well as the chance for a couple to have a romantic getaway. Most bed & breakfast locations are less expensive than staying at a hotel too.

While many hotels offer a continental breakfast, you can enjoy a hearty meal in the morning at a bed & breakfast. The fact that someone is in the kitchen making food just for you to enjoy on a personal level makes it very special. Perhaps the morning paper will be waiting, some fresh cut flowers on the table, or even information on various activities in the area that you can engage in.

Some people travel so often that they really get homesick. Staying in one hotel after another can really take a toll on a person. It can be refreshing to stay at a bed & breakfast which is more of an intimate setting. It can definitely help a person feel more comfortable. Some hotels are so big that a person has trouble remembering where they need to be. This isn't going to be the case with a traditional style bed & breakfast.

For those that have been curious about what bed & breakfast locations have to offer, the best thing to do is make a reservation to stay in one. Once someone does though they may decide that is the only way to travel. Since there are generally bed & breakfast locations to be found all over, a person can easily get away from having to deal with hotel rooms.

Bed & breakfast locations can often be a great solution when you don't have enough room to accommodate all the guests that are coming for a particular event. It is much more personal than just placing them in a hotel. If your guests have never stayed at a bed & breakfast before, they will find it to be a very exciting experience. After that, they may never go back to staying in an ordinary hotel again.

The more personalized you can make the stay for someone at your bed & breakfast, they more likely they will choose it over a hotel. People love to be pampered and this gives them the chance to get it without having to pay for a five star hotel. Having some leisure time at a bed & breakfast can really help you to enjoy your vacation or travel for work.

As the word spreads about the quality of your bed & breakfast, you can be sure that your schedule of reservations is going to continue to grow. Hopefully you will have a full house every night so that your bed & breakfast can be as profitable for you as possible. Paying attention to the needs and desires of your guests is going to help you make it happen.
